We all are looking forward to reach a place where we are successful and being employed is no doubt a part of this future. No one wants to be unemployed. So, what can we do to be employable? Here comes the personal development and employment model. One should be aware of what success looks like to him before deciding on his/her profession as access is a subjective concept. It is what you and your surrounding people put value on. Do you value money more or fame more? Do you want to be an expert at something or want to spend more time with your family? Are you materialistic or not? All these questions must be answered carefully to decide one’s career.

My cousin who is 7 years older than me introduced me to this concept at the beginning of my high school year. As a teenager, it was too early for me to have this kind of discussion. However, it was my cousin who was adamant about making me learn about how important this concept is and how I should incorporate it into my life so that I do not face any hindrances later on.

He shared his experience of how he was struggling to catch the attention of the interviewers just because he had not utilized this model and had not gained enough skills to get through the application process more easily. At that time, I heard his advice in the passing but now I am trying to implement it so that I do not go through with what he had to.

For this, I am trying to interact with the world as much as I can to widen my vision and gain worldly experience along with academic prowess. I am trying to travel to see how this world works. At the same time, I am trying to gain on-site experience in the field I will be getting into after my studies. The hands-on experience will enhance my understanding of technical problems associated with work while the exploration of the world will help me to navigate situations related to people.
